They're just flat, but otherwise they don't seem to have loli proportions.

Maomao certaintly doesn't count as a loli lmao.

With Frieren I kinda get it, but It's not it either - different proportions - being short and flat doesn't count as being a loli/lolibaba

neither of those are loli.

loli doesn't just mean petite. it really only applies to those that look like prepubescent girls. neither Frieren nor Maomao are ever shown or described in that way.

Frieren might be below average in height, but her body proportions are no different from any other female character we see. and judging from Serie being also very short, we can assume that that is just an Elf characteristic.

Maomao is skinny and short, and one might mistake her for being slightly younger than she really is, but again, she looks not too different from any of the other handmaidens and servent girls. also, Maomao is 17. she does not classify as a "baba" (granny) either, even if she behaves more mature than most girls her age.

I hope not. I massively dislike adult women looking like children. Especially when their love interest looks like an adult male and is much taller. It's creepy to me.
Edit: I'm talking in anime because this is Mal. Trying to throw real world examples isn't the exact same thing.

@deg No. Just clearly child like short adult women IN anime who are partnered with a guy that clearly looks MUCH older. Despite being close to the same age. I say in anime because it's more specifically the eyes that make the difference. The FL has big round child eyes and the mc has actual normal eyes. Most of the time
